What is it actually made of?
Food-grade PP plastic, chosen because it stays rigid at freezer temperatures — that rigidity is what lets the buttons pop a cube out without you bending the whole tray.
How big are the cubes?
Standard drink-sized cubes rather than the large single cubes used for whisky. Thirty-two of them per fill in the large size, eighteen in the small.
Will the ice taste of the freezer?
The lid covers the tray while it freezes and the box keeps the loose cubes covered, which is what stops ice picking up freezer smells. Keep it away from strong-smelling open food anyway.
