Sliding Non-Stick Pizza Peel
Details
A wooden peel with a non-stick sheet that slides. You build the pizza on the sheet, hold the sheet still and pull the handle back, and the pizza is laid down on the stone exactly where you put it — no shove, no jerk, no toppings sliding into the back of the oven.
Why you’ll like it
- It works as a board. Flat on the counter it is a 35 cm work surface for stretching dough, weaving a lattice or rolling pastry.
- The handle is cut through. Slots in the frame mean you can grip it from either side, and it hangs on a hook by the hole in the tip.
- Nothing is coated in flour. Because the sheet releases on its own, you skip the semolina layer that normally burns onto a stone.
How to use it
- Build on the sheet Stretch the base straight onto the non-stick surface and top it there. No flour needed.
- Rest the front edge Set the leading edge of the sheet down on the stone at the far side.
- Hold and pull Pin the sheet, draw the handle back. The pizza stays where you set it down.
- Reverse to collect Slide the sheet under the cooked base and pull it back onto the frame.

Common questions
Can it go in the oven?
No. It is a launching and serving tool — the pizza goes onto the stone or the tray, and the peel comes straight back out. Leaving it in a hot oven will scorch the wood and damage the sheet.
Do I still need flour on the board?
No, and that is most of the point. The sheet releases dough on its own. A very wet dough left sitting for twenty minutes may still want a light dusting, but a normal base goes straight on.
How big a pizza does it take?
The working surface is about 35 cm across, so anything up to roughly a 13-inch pizza sits comfortably. A larger base will overhang and lose its edge on the way in.
